A timeless classic, imported from France. The iconic black Basque BERET—a wardrobe essential for jazz musicians of the '50s and '60s—originated over two centuries ago in the Béarn, a mountainous region in the Pyrenees to the east of the Basque country.
In the small Béarn village of Baudreix, the Blancq-Olibet family has been manufacturing fine berets since 1819. We are pleased to offer their superb Bakara beret.
Made with the finest pure virgin wool, this beautifully crafted beret is partially lined with satin for your comfort. It is impermeable [waterproof], may be worn in all weathers, and will last for years.
To estimate your beret size, measure the circumference of the widest part of your head. Then look at the chart below and find your measurement. If your measurement falls between two of the sizes choose the larger of the two sizes:
Head Size of 21-1/8 to 21-1/2 inches = Small Beret
21-7/8 to 22-1/4 inches = Medium
22-5/8 to 23 inches = Large
23-1/2 to 23-7/8 inches = XL
24-1/2 to 25 inches = 2XL
25-1/4 to 25-1/2 inches = 3XL
